Philmont spans the course of two weeks. Prior to the trip scouts get to vote on a trek based on difficulty and activities. Outside of Philmont Scouts spend a few days doing activities that they vote on. When the Philmont hike begins Scouts spend twelve days traversing the reservation. When on the trail Scouts travel from camp to camp hiking around 10 miles per day and completing different activities.
